Service Overview

Brake service you can feel

Your brakes do their hardest work in South Florida traffic. Constant stop-and-go driving and summer heat wear pads and rotors faster than highway miles do, so paying attention to early warning signs keeps small brake jobs from becoming big ones.

Every brake visit at Southport Auto Repair starts with an inspection, not a sales pitch. Our technicians measure pad thickness, check rotor condition, and look over calipers, hoses and fluid before recommending anything.

You will see what we see and get a clear quote before any work begins. If your brakes are fine, we will tell you that too. Call us at (954) 527-0942 or reach out through our contact page to schedule a brake inspection.

Common Questions

Brake repair questions, answered

How do I know if my brakes need service?

Common signs include squealing or grinding noises, vibration when braking, a soft or low pedal, longer stopping distances, or a brake warning light on the dash. Any of these is worth an inspection.

Do rotors always need to be replaced with the pads?

Not always. We measure rotor thickness and check for warping and wear. If they are within specification and in good condition, they can stay; if not, we will show you why replacement is the right call.

How long does a brake repair take?

Many brake jobs are completed the same day. Timing depends on the repair, our schedule, and parts availability - call ahead and we will let you know what to expect.

Do you install parts I bring in myself?

No. We do not install customer-supplied parts. We supply the parts for every repair and select quality components appropriate for your vehicle and the service.

Does brake fluid ever need to be changed?

Brake fluid absorbs moisture over time, which South Florida humidity speeds up. We check its condition during every brake inspection and recommend service only if the fluid needs it.
